Kutztown University Inducts 44 into May 2019 Class of Chi Sigma Iota Honor Society for Counseling
Kutztown University inducted 44 students into the Chi Omega Upsilon chapter of the Chi Sigma Iota Honor Society for counseling at its induction ceremony this spring. Chi Sigma Iota is an international honor society for counseling students, professional counselors, and counselor educators. The society was established in 1985 by counseling professionals in the State of Ohio. Chi Sigma Iota's mission is to promote recognition to those in the counseling profession who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, research, and clinical practice. The members are dedicated to the counseling profession and the advancement of the profession. The Chi Omega Upsilon Chapter was a new Charter Chapter organized in 2017, with Deborah L. Duenyas, Ph.D. as chapter faculty advisor. Membership Eligibility for membership is extended only to those students at Kutztown University in the Counselor Education program who have completed nine credits and have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or better.

National Society of Leadership and Success Inducts more than 180 Kutztown University Students in Spring 2019 Class
More than 180 Kutztown University students have been inducted into the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS) as part of the Spring 2019 class. To be inducted at KU, students must attend an orientation, a three-hour leadership training seminar, three success networking team meetings and three speaker broadcasts featuring leading figures delivering success-related messages to members.

Fifty-five Albright College students presented original artwork for the Freedman Gallery's annual juried student exhibit, this May. Several artists earned prizes and awards, given in different categories during a special reception and many of the exhibitors sold work to visitors.

ESU to Graduate 1,187 Students at Three Commencement Exercises
A total of 1,187 students will receive degrees from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania at separate commencement exercises for undergraduate and graduate students on May 10 and May 11. ESU will hold three graduation ceremonies: one for graduate students on Friday, May 10 at 6:45 p.m. and two ceremonies for undergraduate students on Saturday, May 11. The undergraduate ceremonies will take place at 8:45 a.m. (College of Arts and Sciences and College of Education) and at 1:15 p.m. (College of Business and Management and College of Health Sciences). All three ceremonies will be held in Koehler Fieldhouse. A total of 995 bachelor's degrees, 188 master's degrees and four doctoral degrees will be awarded.

McDaniel College students on team Liquid Lens competed in the McDaniel College Innovation Challenge Finals on April 15. Liquid Lens by senior Chloe DePiano, communication major from Titusville, N.J., senior Zachary Fortuna, business administration major from Metuchen, N.J., and senior Dustin Miller, communication major from Wyomissing, Pa., is both an aluminum water bottle and social media app aimed at making a positive environmental impact.

On March 31, 30 McDaniel students were inducted into the Delta of Maryland Chapter of the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa national honor society. McDaniel College alumnus George Harold Baker, III, of Dayton, Va., a professor emeritus at James Madison University, was also inducted.

Wilkes University Students Participate in Alternative Break Trip to North Carolina
Eight Wilkes University students are participating in a LEAP-AB trip to the Carolina Tiger Rescue in North Carolina. LEAP-AB stands for Leadership, Education, Advocacy, and Partnerships-Alternative Break, coined by student leaders in 2016. Students are donating their time at the tiger rescue, doing work which addresses animal welfare issues. Activities include general sanctuary maintenance including daily animal care tasks and the building of new enclosures.

The Lebanon Valley College Concert Choir proudly announces its 83rd annual spring tour from March 17-24. Conducted by Dr. Kyle Zeuch, the 60-member ensemble will give multiple concert performances in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Washington, D.C.

2019 Sophomore Expedition
The Sophomore Expedition is a guaranteed study abroad program. In the spring semester of their sophomore year, students participate in a series of classes to prepare them for the trip. Then they spend 8-10 days traveling as a class to an international destination where they participate in a number of service activites. This year they traveled to Athens, Greece.

Kutztown University Announces Fall 2018 Degree Recipients
Kutztown University has conferred degrees for more than 450 students for the Fall 2018 semester. Kutztown University announces degree conferment twice a year, once in the winter and once in the summer. Commencement exercises are held in May and December; however, students finish the requirements for graduation throughout the entire year. The following students have been awarded degrees following the fall 2018 semester. The cumulative grade point average necessary for honors distinction is: with honor (cum laude) 3.40; with high honor (magna cum laude) 3.60 and with highest honor (summa cum laude) 3.80. Students listed multiple times have been awarded more than one degree. Students who have requested privacy (FERPA) are not listed publicly.
